US Army’s - Blunder In Afghanistan

The victory of the Taliban in Afghanistan shocked the world, with the US being shocked more than others. The blazing speed and unpredicted victory of the Taliban against the mighty US Army which was equipped with the most modern and latest generation of arms and ammunition. The Americans used the “Mother of all Bombs”, drones, helicopters and aircraft and several other Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven weapons of war and assistive devices including satellite imagery in Afghanistan.

Mahindra Defence to Manufacture Anti-Sub Suite

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded a major contract to Mahindra Defence Systems Limited (MDS) worth Rs 1349.95 Cr for the manufacturing of Integrated Anti-Submarine Warfare Defence Suite (IADS) for modern warships of Indian Navy. Competitive bids from Indian companies were invited by MoD through open tender wherein the systems fielded were put through detailed trials at sea to prove their capability.

India releases RFI for Mine sweeper and LPD

After failure to purchase in previous attempts, Indian Navy, on Thursday, sent out fresh Request for Information (RFI)  for 3/4 mine counter measure vehicle (MCMV) and four Landing Platform Dock (LPD).

The Indian Navy intend to lease in service/decommissioned MCMV through Government to Government deal. On the other hand the four LPDs will be procured under Buy (Indian-IDDM)/ Buy (Indian) category of Defence Acquisition Procedure-20.

CAS flew in an IOC LCA Tejas

Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria PVSM AVSM VM ADC, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) visited IAF units and flight test establishments/ facilities of DRDO and HAL at Bengaluru on 23 & 24 Aug 21. On arrival, CAS was received by AVM Jeetendra Mishra VSM, Commandant Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE). He also took to sky in initial operational LCA Tejas.

Time to Focus on Needs of Future

The Indian Armed Forces have been undergoing rapid modernisation over the years. There has been a progressive upgradation of our weapon systems and platforms in keeping with our threat perceptions. However, due to budgetary constraints and other factors we have not been able to achieve our desired end state. At the same time our main adversaries China and Pakistan have also kept on their modernisation drives and today pose a serious threat to our sovereignty by resorting to provocation at the borders and within our hinterland.

BrahMos looking for 200 acres in UP

In a major development that could turn out to be a trendsetter uplifting the scenario of the state both economically and socially, UP may soon start manufacturing the Next-Gen state of the art ‘BrahMos missile’.

To establish Uttar Pradesh as the country's largest and advanced defence manufacturing centre, the Defense Industrial Corridor of UP will further gain momentum as Domestic and foreign companies working in the defence sector have taken the initiative to invest in the first Defence Industrial Corridor of the state.
