Boeing and U.S. Air Force Ink Historic Deal for F-15EX Fighter Jet

The U.S. Air Force awarded Boeing a nearly $1.2 billion contract to build the first lot of eight F-15EX advanced fighter jets to help the service meet its capacity requirements and add capability to its fighter fleet. The award also covers support and one-time, upfront engineering costs. Already under construction at the Boeing F-15 production facility in St. Louis, the first two jets deliver next year.

The U.S. Air Force is also announcing the overall Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with a ceiling value of nearly $23 billion for F-15EX.

Israel successfully launched the ‘Ofek 16’ reconnaissance satellite

The Space Administration in the Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D), of the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMoD), and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), successfully launched the ‘Ofek 16’ reconnaissance satellite into space. The launch was performed from a launch site based in central Israel, using a ‘Shavit’ launcher.

Boeing Rolls Out First Loyal Wingman Unmanned Aircraft

A Boeing [NYSE:BA]-led Australian industry team has presented the first unmanned Loyal Wingman aircraft to the Royal Australian Air Force, a historic milestone for the company and the Commonwealth. 

The aircraft, which uses artificial intelligence to extend the capabilities of manned and unmanned platforms, is the first to be designed, engineered and manufactured in Australia in more than 50 years. It is Boeing’s largest investment in an unmanned aircraft outside of the United States.

Rostec ready to commence Ansat supplies to China

Russian Helicopters holding company (part of Rostec State Corporation) completed validation of the type certificate for Ansat light multipurpose helicopter in the People's Republic of China. The validation of the type certificate by Chinese aviation authorities allows the company to commence the supplies of Ansat helicopters to China under a previously concluded contract.

At Airshow China 2018 Russian Helicopters signed a contract  for supplying 20 Ansat helicopters to the Chinese Emergency and Disaster Relief Association.
