Second ASW SWC Launched at GRSE

‘Androth’, the second of 08 x ASW Shallow Water Craft (SWC) Project, being built by GRSE for Indian Navy was launched on 21 Mar 23 at M/s GRSE, Kolkata. The ship made her first contact with water of Hooghly River at 1430 Hrs at the Launch Ceremony presided over by VAdm Dinesh K Tripathi, FOC-IN-C (West). In keeping with the Naval traditions, Shashi Tripathi launched the ship to the chanting of invocation from Atharva Veda. Mr Arun Lal, former Indian cricketer and head coach of Bengal cricket team, was the Guest of Honour for the ceremony.

BEL signs MoU with Truecom Networks

Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an MoU with Truecom Networks Private Limited for co-operation in the field of Field Wireless System (FWS). The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and Truecom Networks Private Limited to pursue business prospects in the area of Field Wireless System.

BEL wins ‘Urban Infra Business Award 2022’

Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has been conferred the ‘Urban Infra Business Award 2022’ in recognition of its contributions, in line with the Government’s ‘Make in India initiative’, for the transformation of Metro and Rail commutation in India. BEL has been developing indigenous technologies for the implementation of Intelligent Transportation System in Metro and trains.

DRDO Hands Over ToT to 13 Industries

Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) handed over 16 Licensing Agreements for Transfer of Technology (LAToT) for 10 DRDO-developed technologies to 13 industries during the ‘Bandhan’ ceremony of the 12th DefExpo in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on October 20, 2022. Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh presided over the ceremony, which saw a total of 451 Memoranda of Understanding, Transfer of Technology agreements and Product Launches.

DPSU Indigenise 72 items

Putting Atmanirbhar Bharat on fast track, 72 items out of total of 214 items mentioned in 1st and 2nd Positive Indiginisation List (PIL) have been indigenised by Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) well before their original indigenisation timelines of December 2023, December 2024 and December 2025. The remaining 142 items are being indigenised within the timeline of December 2022.

HAL-SIDM Indigenisation Conclave

Sanjay Jaju, Additional Secretary (DP), Ministry of Defence, GOI inaugurated HAL-Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) Indigenisation Conclave on ‘Make in India for Defence and Aerospace’ held in hybrid mode at HAL Management Academy campus in Bengaluru today.  Around 60 items to be indigenized were kept on display at the venue.
