DefExpo 2020 - Russia

Among the land systems presented in Russian pavilion, TOS-1A – multi-barrel thermobaric rocket system will be a unique product. World over it is termed as multi-barrel rocket system (MBRL) which Russian reject, they call it flame thrower. The system is designed to destroy men, material, light armoured vehicle, structures within the range of 600-6000m using unguided rockets with thermobaric warheads. The weapon gives point blank range against enemy positions. The thermobaric warhead burns down the target in a huge ball of fire.

The Russia pavilion will witness the display of the latest version of the tracked self-propelled Buk-M3 Viking surface to air missile (SAM) system. It is a much-improved export version of the Buk-M2 system operational with many militaries across the world.

AU-220M autocannon

The centrepiece of Russian display at the expo is its 57 mm autocannon designed for installation on all kinds of armoured vehicles. AU-220M is a remote-controlled, fully automatized unmanned artillery module. It can be used both as part of the combat vehicles and as a stationary system. There is also the naval version of the system. 
The system is exhibited in India for the first time.

Indian Navy launches HADR ops to support Madagascar

Indian Navy Ship Airavat, whilst mission deployed in the Southern Indian Ocean has been diverted to Antsiranana based on request received from Madagascar. The ship will undertake Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief mission as part of 'Operation Vanilla' which has been launched to provide assistance to the affected population of Madagascar post devastation caused by Cyclone Diane.

DefExpo 2020 - BAE Systems

Two BAE Systems M777 Ultra Lightweight Howitzer (ULH) gun systems will take centre stage at the 11th edition of DefExpo next month in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The two M777 ULH systems signify the 145-gun agreement between the U.S. and Indian governments to strengthen India’s artillery capabilities. Under the agreement, 120 ULH systems are being assembled, integrated and tested in India by Mahindra Defence Systems Ltd. (MDSL), as part of the Make in India programme. To date, BAE Systems has produced and delivered 25 guns to the Indian Army, with another 70-plus planned for 2020.
